COMPARISON

StudioFly vs Momence for studios in the US

Last verified: 26 September 2026

Momence and StudioFly both run a class-based studio from one system: scheduling, payments, messaging and reports. This page compares them for a studio in the US, on the questions that decide it: how each one is priced, how members pay, how sales tax and text messages work, and what support looks like.

Momence has real strengths, from Stripe card and ACH payments to room maps and a branded app at a published price, and this page gives them equal space. We make StudioFly. Every Momence fact below comes from Momence's own pages (or a dated archive copy, where it says so) and has a numbered source, checked on 25 or 26 September 2026 from India; Momence's pricing page may look different from other locations.

Momence is a trademark of its owner. StudioFly is not affiliated with or endorsed by Momence. Other product names on this page belong to their owners.

  • You want two-way text messages and outbound calls from one inbox
  • You want a branded app or an AI agent that books and reschedules, at published add-on prices
  • You sell on-demand videos and courses alongside classes

What each one publishes.

Momence

  • Quote only (Momence pricing page, viewed from India, 26 Sep 2026): the live page says "Let's talk pricing" and shows no plans or prices. A help-center article (updated 14 Aug 2026) sends hosts to that page, where staff explain each tier; tier names and prices aren't given.1,2
  • Add-on prices are published in Momence's help center, in US dollars: a branded app at $250 a month on top of the Momence subscription; the AI Agent at $399 a month (Momence says the price will rise for hosts who haven't activated it yet); and Automated Bookkeeping at $85 a month, with a 30-day free trial.3,4,5
  • Superseded, not current: the Internet Archive's capture of the pricing page from 3 Sep 2026 showed Basic (free, with transaction fees of 5% on the studio and 4% on the client), Pro ($60 a month, 2.5% on the studio) and Custom ($199 a month, no fees on payments). The live page read on 26 Sep 2026 no longer shows these plans, and whether that's a redesign or depends on the visitor's location wasn't verified.6
  • Processing rates on the same archived page (3 Sep 2026, superseded): in the US, 3.9% + $0.30 for online card payments, 3.7% + $0.05 in person and 1.8% for ACH; in the UK, 2.5% + 20p online, 2.4% + 10p in person and 2% + 20p for BACS. Not listed on https://www.momence.com/pricing/ as of 26 Sep 2026: card, ACH or BACS processing rates. Card fees are itemized per transaction in the studio's Stripe dashboard.1,6,7
  • Text messages are billed in monthly SMS tiers that follow Twilio segments (the help article's example uses a $19 tier and a $0 tier). Not listed on https://help.momence.com/en/articles/12028621-customer-communication-faq-s as of 26 Sep 2026: the full list of SMS tier prices or segment allowances.8
  • Hosts not on an active contract cancel their account themselves; hosts on a contract can request cancellation after the date in their contract terms, and individual apps can carry a set number of months. A terms-of-service PDF hosted on momence.com (not linked from the live footer, so possibly out of date) says the agreement auto-renews for the same term unless either party gives 30 days' notice, and that fees are non-cancelable and non-refundable.9,10

SWITCHING

Moving from Momence to StudioFly.

A realistic plan, step by step. Nothing here needs to happen in a hurry.

  1. Export what you have

Momence reports, including payroll, can be downloaded and opened in a spreadsheet app (there's no PDF option). Not listed on https://help.momence.com/en/articles/12028601-customer-info-collection-management-faq-s as of 25 Sep 2026: how a studio exports its full client list and history, so ask Momence support for a complete export of customers, memberships, credits and payments before you cancel. Hosts not on an active contract can cancel their account themselves; hosts on a contract can request cancellation after the date in their contract terms, and apps are canceled from the in-product App Store. (Sources 9, 52, 53, 54, checked 25 and 26 Sep 2026.)

  2. Set up StudioFly

Create your class types, recurring classes, membership plans, packs and staff roles, so the structure is ready before members arrive.

  3. Import your members

Bring member records across with a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel) import, and check the imported records before you use them.

  4. Plan payments

Saved cards and recurring payments usually can’t be moved between payment providers, so connect your PayPal business account and plan how members will pay their next fee through PayPal.

  5. Choose a switch date

Pick a quiet week, tell members the date and what changes for them, and move bookings over on that day. How long it takes depends on your member count, your plans and how much history you move.

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY
