Choosing software for a dance academy in India comes down to a few practical questions. Does it price in rupees and take UPI? Does it send GST invoices and WhatsApp fee reminders? Is there help in Indian hours, and can you see what it will cost? Then: does it handle batches, monthly fees, parents and the annual show?
We checked nine options, StudioFly included, against the same criteria, India first, using only each product’s own pages. This isn’t a ranking. Each product sits under the kind of academy it suits best, and we say where another product suits a buyer better than StudioFly.

We checked every product against the same 13 criteria, StudioFly included, using only the product's own website, pricing page, help centre or app listing, between 24 September 2026 and 25 September 2026.

The vendor’s own prices are published in rupees. Partly means they’re quoted in rupees but not published.
UPI payments
Members can pay you by UPI, directly or through an Indian gateway such as Razorpay. Partly means UPI payments are only recorded by hand, or UPI is still planned.
GST invoices
Invoices to your members with your GSTIN and the CGST and SGST, or IGST, split. Partly means GST is mentioned, or a single tax label, without those details.
Automatic WhatsApp reminders
Fee, renewal or class reminders sent to members on WhatsApp automatically. Partly means they’re sent by hand, or WhatsApp isn’t available to studios in India.
Support in India

How we chose the products
We started from what an academy owner in India sees when searching for dance academy or dance studio software: the Google, Bing and Brave results for India that we recorded on 24 September 2026.
We kept products an Indian academy can sign up for and run, and added two recital-focused international tools, Jackrabbit Dance and Studio Pro, because many dance schools build their year around a show. StudioFly is included because we make it.
What “Listed” means
Listed: the product's own pages describe it. Partly: they describe some of it, or only as a paid add-on or on the roadmap. Not listed: we couldn't find it on the pages we checked. That doesn't mean the product can't do it, so ask the vendor.
For StudioFly we used the same standard: what studiofly.fit says, which is limited to what we've confirmed in the product.
What we left out
MyGymDesk, which is made by the same company as StudioFly, and Gymdesk, whose name is easily confused with it.
WorkDo’s dance academy module: a paid add-on that needs its separate “WorkDo Dash SaaS” script.117

StudioFly records a parent or guardian’s name and phone on each student, but there’s no parent portal or family account, and reminders aren’t sent to guardians.

Is there free dance studio software?
StudioPartner lists a free plan for up to 30 students, and OpenEduCat has a free open-source edition. StudioFly has three paid plans and a free trial.
Which dance studio software has recital and costume tools?
Studio Pro and Jackrabbit Dance list recital line-ups and costume sizing, and OpenEduCat lists recital planning and costume assignments. StudioFly doesn’t include recital or costume tools.
Which options support UPI and GST invoices?
StudioFly and AcademyPRO by spyn list both UPI and GST invoices. AcadifyOS, OpenEduCat and YoActiv list UPI, and StudioPartner records UPI by hand and lists GST invoices on Pro. On the pages we checked, Jackrabbit Dance, Studio Pro and Time2book didn’t list INR pricing or UPI.
