Connect StudioFly to ChatGPT

StudioFly works with ChatGPT. Once it's connected, a studio owner or staff member can ask ChatGPT about their own studio in everyday language, and make a small set of changes their role already allows, each shown as a preview first. ChatGPT signs in to StudioFly as you, so it sees only what your login can see.

Before you start

  • A StudioFly login, as the owner or a staff member, at a studio where the AI connector is switched on. The AI connector is included on the Pro and Enterprise plans and available as an add-on on Growth. If it isn't on for your studio, ChatGPT tells you so, and the account owner can switch it on in StudioFly.
  • A ChatGPT account where you can turn on developer mode in its settings. Your ChatGPT account is separate from StudioFly.
  • The connector address: https://mcp.studiofly.fit/mcp

Connect in ChatGPT's developer mode

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings and turn on developer mode.
  2. Add a new app (a connector). Name it StudioFly and enter the address https://mcp.studiofly.fit/mcp.
  3. ChatGPT opens StudioFly's own sign-in. Sign in with your StudioFly login. Your password goes to StudioFly, never to ChatGPT.
  4. If your login works at more than one studio, pick the studio under Which business?
  5. Choose Approve. You return to ChatGPT with StudioFly connected.

ChatGPT's menus change from time to time, so the exact labels on your screen may differ. The address and the StudioFly sign-in stay the same.

The ChatGPT app directory

The StudioFly app is coming soon to the ChatGPT app directory. Developer mode, above, connects the same StudioFly connector with the same tools, previews and limits, so you can start today.

StudioFly is already listed in Claude's directory. If you use Claude, see Connect StudioFly to Claude.

Using it in a chat

Make sure StudioFly is available in the chat, then ask in plain words. Name members by name or member code, and classes by their day and start time. If a detail is missing, such as which of two classes at 7am, ChatGPT asks.

Before a change, ChatGPT can show its own approval card, with Deny, Allow once and Always allow. Whether it does depends on ChatGPT's own settings and mode, so don't rely on it: StudioFly's preview and its Shall I go ahead? always come first.

For ideas, see ChatGPT prompts for Pilates studios and the other ChatGPT and Claude guides.

What you can ask

  • How today looks: check-ins, who is in now, class bookings, personal training and money collected.
  • One member: plans and class packs, end dates, sessions left, anything owed and recent visits.
  • Memberships and class packs ending soon that haven't been renewed.
  • Who owes money, oldest first, with the total.
  • Members with an active plan who haven't visited for a number of days.
  • Revenue for a period, what it was paid for and collections by payment mode.
  • The class schedule for a day or up to 14 days, with bookings, places and waitlists.
  • Personal training delivered and booked, by trainer.
  • Leads, conversions and the follow-ups due today or overdue.
  • Renewals coming up, and members due to renew who have stopped coming.
  • Staff who checked in today, and which biometric devices are online.
  • Attendance by day, weekday and hour, members by status and plan, payments received, and expenses and profit.

Every answer follows your role's permissions. Try:

  • "How full are this week's Reformer Pilates classes?"
  • "Who owes us money right now?"
  • "Which members haven't been to a class in the last 7 days?"

Changes it can make

Every change comes in two steps. ChatGPT first gets a preview of exactly what would change (who, what, before and after, and who is told), which changes nothing. Only after you say yes is the change made, once. A preview works for 10 minutes and only one time, so nothing is ever done twice.

  • Book a member into a class.
  • Schedule a class session, or a weekly series of sessions.
  • Check a member in.
  • Add a lead.
  • Log the response to a lead or member follow-up.
  • Cancel a class session: bookings end with no penalty, and each booked member gets a notice.
  • Send one member a payment reminder for one unpaid bill or class pack.
  • Extend a membership.
  • Freeze a membership, when the freeze carries no fee.
  • Submit a WhatsApp message template to Meta for approval, for a studio that sends WhatsApp from its own number. The template isn't sent to anyone.

Every one of the ten asks first. The preview ends with Shall I go ahead? and nothing happens until you say yes, whether it's a booking, a check-in, a new lead or a payment reminder.

What stays in the app

  • Recording payments, refunds, discounts or voids, and creating or editing bills and invoices.
  • Deleting anything.
  • Listing or exporting all your members.
  • Anyone's pay, bank or ID details, passwords or other credentials. Staff costs appear only as an expense category's total.
  • Settings, staff changes, freezes that carry a fee and messages to many members at once.
  • Any other business: the studio comes from your sign-in, never from a question.

Ask for one of these and ChatGPT says it can't be done here and points you to the StudioFly app.

Permissions

  • ChatGPT acts as you. It sees only what your role and locations can see, and each change needs the same permission it needs in the dashboard.
  • The owner sets what each staff role can do in Settings → Roles & Permissions in StudioFly.
  • Each staff member connects with their own StudioFly login, never a shared one.

Disconnect

  • In ChatGPT: remove or disconnect the StudioFly app in ChatGPT's settings.
  • In StudioFly: open Connected AI apps at app.studiofly.fit/oauth/connections and choose Disconnect. ChatGPT can no longer reach your studio from that moment. The page lists the connections made with your own login.

You can connect again whenever you like.
