Can you cancel or reschedule a Pilates class online?
Yes, within the studio's cancellation window. How cancelling and rescheduling work in the app, what late cancels cost, and what to do when you've missed the cut-off.

Yes. In most booking apps you can cancel or reschedule a Pilates class yourself, from your list of upcoming bookings, as long as you do it within the studio's cancellation window. Cancel in time and your credit or payment is usually safe. Cancel after the cut-off, or don't turn up, and many studios count the class as used, so your pack loses a credit.
How cancelling works
Open the studio's booking page or member app, the same one you used to book the class online, and go to your upcoming bookings. Tap the class, choose Cancel and confirm. If you booked with a pack, a class cancelled in time won't count against it.
Look for a cancellation message as well. If none arrives and the class still shows in your bookings, the cancellation didn't go through, so try again or message the studio.
The cancellation window
The cancellation window is the time during which you can still cancel a class without losing it. It closes at a cut-off the studio sets, such as 12 hours before the class. Some studios set different cut-offs for different classes. If a studio's cut-off is 12 hours before the class, for example, a 7 a.m. reformer class has to be cancelled by 7 p.m. the evening before.
You'll usually find the cut-off on the class page, in the studio's policy or in your booking confirmation. Once the window has closed, the app may warn you that cancelling now will cost the class.
Studios aren't being difficult here. In a class of six reformers, a place given up at midnight for a 7 a.m. class is almost impossible to fill. One given up the afternoon before can go to the next person on the waitlist.
What late cancels and no-shows cost
Rules vary, but many studios follow a pattern like this. Check your own studio's policy for the details.
| What you do | When | What usually happens |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel | Before the window closes | Nothing is lost, and the place opens up for someone else |
| Reschedule | Before the window closes | Your booking moves to the new class |
| Late cancel | After the window closes | The class counts as used |
| No-show | You don't come and don't cancel | The class counts as used |
On a class pack, "used" normally means one credit gone. Before a busy week, read how class packs and credits work. On an unlimited membership there's no credit to take, so some studios charge a fee instead, and some limit your bookings after repeated no-shows.
Even after the cut-off, cancel the moment you know you can't come. If you wake at 5.30 with a fever before a 7 a.m. class, cancel then. You may still lose the credit, but the place can go to someone waiting, and the instructor isn't setting up for someone who won't arrive.
Arriving late is a separate matter. Some studios won't let you join a reformer class once the warm-up has started, for safety, and treat it as a no-show.
The rule should be written down before you book, and it's fair to ask the front desk where to find it. Our late-cancellation and no-show policy templates are written for studio owners, but they show how these rules are usually worded and why.
Rescheduling instead of cancelling
Rescheduling moves your booking to a different class rather than giving it up. Some apps have a Reschedule or Change class option, and in others you cancel and book again. Either way, the cut-off usually applies to the class you're leaving, so a reschedule after it can count as a late cancel.
If you have to cancel and rebook, book the new class first. Say you cancel Tuesday's 7 a.m. class and then find Thursday's 7 a.m. is full: you've lost one place and gained nothing. Holding both for a minute is usually fine if your pack has a spare credit, and you cancel the old one as soon as the new one is confirmed.
Asking for a time change
Sometimes the app won't move you. Usually the window has closed or the class you want is full. Some studios also prefer to make changes by hand. Message the studio on the channel it uses for bookings, with the class you're in, the one you'd like and a short reason.
Keep it brief and send it early. A message like "Booked Tue 7 a.m. reformer, can I move to Thu 7 a.m.? Work trip came up." gives the front desk everything in one read. Studios tend to help with a genuine clash, illness or a family emergency, but don't expect an exception every week.
If the class you want is full, ask the front desk to add you to its waitlist. You'll then be in line if a place opens up.
If you run a studio
Set a cancellation window for each class and show it where members book, not only in a policy document. In StudioFly, members cancel or reschedule classes themselves in the member app within the window you set, and a late cancellation or no-show can cost a class credit automatically, by your rules. If you turn on a waitlist, the place a member gives up goes to the first eligible person waiting. See how class scheduling and cancellation windows are set up.
Questions people ask
Can I cancel a Pilates class without losing my credit?
Yes, if you cancel before the studio's cancellation window closes. A class cancelled in time won't count against your pack, and the place opens up for someone else. After the cut-off, many studios count the class as used. Check the cut-off on the class page or in your confirmation when you book, not on the morning of the class.
What's the difference between cancelling and rescheduling?
Cancelling gives up your place, while rescheduling moves it to another class. Both usually follow the same cancellation window, so a reschedule after the cut-off can count as a late cancel. If you still want to train that week, reschedule instead, as long as the new class has a spot.
How do I ask to change my class time?
Use the reschedule option in the app if there is one. If not, or if the window has closed, message the studio with your current class, the one you'd like and a short reason. Do it as early as you can. Front desks can often move you by hand, but they can't create a spot in a full class.
What happens if I miss a class without cancelling?
It counts as a no-show, which usually costs you the class: one credit from your pack, or a fee on some unlimited memberships. Repeated no-shows can also lead to booking limits at some studios. If something genuinely went wrong, message the studio the same day; the front desk may make an exception, though it doesn't have to.
